What's Inspiring me?

I had an enforced day out of doing anything, Wednesday, halted by a migraine.
The following day I had a ticket for the ballet in Manchester, so I really wanted to feel OK. That morning still feeling a bit ropey, a thought occurred to me; ‘I needed some support on a physiological and a mental level’. My mind trawled for a prompt, what about that Healing Frequency music? There are different sound frequency for levels of healing, I checked a post that I’d saved.
That’ll be it I thought; 528 Hertz - for whole body regeneration. I found one of many online, and lying down I listened to it for an hour. Something in me remembered this music, it was background to many meditations I’d listened to in the past. Already feeling much better and still with time to spare I remembered Michael Sealey who I’d listened to so much when I was studying for my Masters in 2016/17. He has a prolific body of work. I luxuriated in guided by a voice that had supported my healing so much in the past.
A curiosity arose; how come I hadn’t used these resources for a couple of years? My practice of meditation, yoga and Focusing is present and nurtures me. However, other interests have also come in to be explored like Shamanic Journeying, or Podcasts around my current learning themes like Man Talks. Then there are the less nurturing pastimes which have accelerated in recent years, like; scrolling or checking online – yes, I do it too !
The theme around resources had arisen, as it tends to - several times this week and it made me sit up and pay attention. I feel that the migraine was a wake-up call as life had been busy for a while. I too need a reminder from those that inspire me. I heard Pam Gregory saying “make sure you take some time for yourself” and reminding us that pausing to breathe with awareness for just a few minutes can ground and restore – what a difference that makes to our quality of living.
In my Counselling room I have been sharing the links to my own recorded Grounding Audio and Guided Focusing Process with almost everyone. When we practiced a little of this in the session, people find it immediately helpful.
This morning, I returned to the familiar and soothing voice of Michael Sealey, the theme of ‘Procrastination’ must have helped somewhat as I sat down to write this blog. Then I followed a yoga teacher, Cole Chance whom I love and hadn’t seen for a while, who inspires me and freshens up my own daily practice.
Something else that pinged in; that when I was using these kinds of resources more in 2016-/2017 it was in the earlier days of having internet on my phone. I’ve set an intention to try to use my time online for something enriching, rather than mindless checking or scrolling. See my blog on Focusing around Digital Addiction
