Notice if your natural instinct is to reach for the root vegetables to make more warming soups and stews.
Our health will benefit from balancing the organs of the metal element both physically and energetically:
The lungs are nurtured by taking some time to breathe deeper, go outside and breathe in the crisp autumn air. In turn this will stimulate your immune system and help to fight colds and flu.
The Large Intestine lets go of our bodies' waste. In a broader sense we can let go of what we can't use in our lives perhaps clearing space in our surroundings to make space for new inspiration.
How Shiatsu supports the metal element
Shiatsu is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine. By contacting your body, using acupressure points, movement and breathing we can restore the balance. Don't be surprised if we do some work on your arms as this is where the meridians of the metal element are found. You may experience more space around your lungs and rib cage, increasing your breathing capacity and the amount of oxygen reaching all the cells of your body
Try the classic yoga/qi gong stretch below, (if there is too much tension in your arms , hold a yoga belt between your hands ) .
Be sure to breathe and move slowly.
